Salle Aramis Fencing Club"Do you think me sufficiently noble to do me the honor of crossing swords with me?" Alexandre Dumas, The Three Musketeers |
Learn the Olympic sport of fencing at the Salle Aramis Fencing Club. Fencing is a fast and athletic sport. Our students learn the foil, basic footwork and blade work. New students learn how to be effective hand judges and directors and are introduced to electric foil once they have mastered the basic movements.
Salle Aramis is a USFA member club, sponsored by Columbus or Dublin City Recreation and Parks Department, and the Dublin Sport Fencing Center. There are three Salle Aramis branches, one at the Feddersen Recreation Center, one at the Westgate Recreation Center, and the third at the Dublin Sport Fencing Center. www.sport-fencing.com in Dublin. Classes at the Recreation Centers are scheduled as part of the Recreation and Parks instructional offering, and typically run in 12 week sessions during the non-summer months. Class format is group instruction and practice, open to all individuals aged 10 to adult, any experience level. Beginners are welcome. Club equipment is available for use to members free of charge.
Several non-USFA tournaments are held at Salle Aramis Westgate each year, one each in the fall, winter, and spring. USFA Tournaments are held at the Dublin Sport Fencing Center and a yearly outdoor epee tournament is held downtown at the Santa Maria in October.
